Massive thanks to Pat and Ray for a phenomenal walk. This was a fantastic walk of around 6.5 miles starting with a lovely stroll up the River Severn to Bewdley. We crossed over the rail tracks on the Severn Valley Railway and through a peaceful caravan park then up the hill into the countryside.
We did nearly get eaten by a pack of domesticated wild cows but then met two very friendly little ponies!
We had an hour in Bewdley where we relaxed at the museum (the gardens are now fully open if anybody is planning a visit) before taking the Coffin Walk back, though we never found the lost graveyard. We did find a nice old church and a chateaux that was used for training in the war. We even saw some large chub lurking by the river bank along with red kites and soaring buzzards.
The next walk is Sunday 14th of June and will take in views from the Frankley Beeches and surrounding areas.
Sunday 26th April: Monument Lane to Lizzie's Farm.
This was a great short walk on a lovely sunny day. The walk leaders, Anita and Paul struck gold with this one. We walked through the local woods which were in full Bluebell bloom and a sight to behold. We had tea and snacks at Lizzie's Farm which sells the best pies and cakes and then it was the walk up the hill back to the cars and a post walk ice-cream at Beacon Hill car park. 4 miles of bliss! Thanks to Anita & Paul.
